LIFE IN A LAND WHERE GOD MATTERS
RESOURCES FOR THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
RESOURCES AND LINKS
In each of the sections below you will find some helpful things to read and do as well as links to other good sites. Believing that we need to be involved in the world, I have included a section of basics that are links to news, weather, etc. One stop for all your needs on the journey.
Daily Work-- The spiritual journey is about a relationship---between me and God as well as between me and the rest of the world. While some of that process comes naturally, most of it is work. Here are some daily ideas and questions of things to do and think about that will deepen those relationships.
Metaphors-- Metaphors are great ways of thinking about things. There are many metaphors for the spiritual journey, here are but a few. Send me more if you have them.
Bible Study-- While there are many wonderful books that help us on our journey, the Bible is the most critical for Christians. Here is a study of Mark, a bit at a time. Ephesians will follow. I will also be adding some links to others.
Comparative Religion-- All religions have something to offer the spiritual pilgrim. Here are but a few websites you can use to more fully understand them and how they can impact your life and faith.
The Environment-- We all live on this planet and God has given us the responsibility of taking care of it. Those who believe we can abuse the planet because God will take care of everything, or that God is coming soon so don't worry, have not only misinterpreted scripture, but will probably be surprised. This link will highlight some places to learn about what is happening and how you can become more educated around the issues and involved.
Resources ---Here you will find links to news, congress, weather and other basic needs.
Education-- Being an educator I can't resist having some links to sites dealing with education. Good stuff here.
Book Reviews--- Here I am looking for your help. I will certainly put some reviews in of books I have found helpful in my journey, but I want to hear of books you have read and how they've helped. You can send me a brief review to the email listed, which I will then post here.
Contact----- Just in case you were wondering, I'm an Episcopal priest and an educator, having taught and run schools for 17 years. For 35 years I have studied various religious traditions and have practiced a variety of forms of spiritual development.
